Armando Rivero draws crowd while throwing BP

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2/23/14) Cubs prospect Armando Rivero drew quite the crowd as he threw live batting practice Saturday. Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein, general manager Jed Hoyer and manager Rick Renteria were among the crowd watching the Cuban right-hander, who the team paid $3.1 million as part of their international investment strategy.

"He’s making really good adjustments," Renteria said, per CSN Chicago. "His arm is live. Any tweak or suggestion that Boz (pitching coach Chris Bosio) gives him, he seems to take in and execute. He might bury one breaking ball and then come back and hit the next one. He’s pretty impressive."
