(6/30/14) White Sox pitching prospect Francelis Montas will undergo surgery on his injured knee, Baseball America reports.
Montas may miss the rest of the regular season while rehabbing the injury, leaving it possible that he doesn't pitch again until instructional league in October, Comcast SportsNet Chicago reports. The prospect injured one knee this spring and rehabbed the injury, but this latest injury is to his other knee. He was in the midst of an excellent season, going 4-0 with a 1.60 ERA and 56:14 K:BB ratio in 62 innings over 10 starts with high Class A Winston-Salem.

(4/3/14) White Sox minor league pitcher Francelis Montas , acquired from Boston in the Jake Peavy deal, will be out for about six weeks with a knee injury, per CSNChicago.com.
The 21-year-old Montas has yet to rise about Class A and has struggled with his control.
