Report: Yankees promote top SP prospect Luis Severino to Triple-A

|(5/28/15) Yankees top pitching prospect Luis Severino has been promoted from Double-A Trenton to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to Baseball America.
The 21-year-old right-hander is 2-2 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in eight starts. He had 48 strikeouts in 38 innings.
Severino is 16-11 with a 2.39 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 56 career outings (54 starts). He is striking out 9.5 batters per nine innings.

|(3/15/15) The Yankees reassigned seven players to minor league camp on Sunday.
RHP Luis Severino , who struck out five batters in 2.2 innings but had a 6.75 ERA, was one of the players sent to the minors. Catcher Trent Garrison (two strikeouts in three hitless at bats in spring games), RHP Nick Goody (four strikeouts in three one-hit shutout innings), catcher Juan Graterol (no spring at bats), LHP James Pazos (5.40 ERA), RHP Diego Moreno (6.75 ERA) and LHP Tyler Webb (6.00 ERA) were also reassigned.

|(3/9/15) Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday that pitching prospect Luis Severino has been diagnosed with strep throat, MLB.com reports.
Severino didn't feel well when he came in Monday and was sent for tests. The prospect impressed manager Joe Girardi with his performance Sunday, and the team has said that the pitcher could make an impact in the major leagues this season.

|(3/8/15) Yankees pitcher Luis Severino pitched a strong 1 1/3 innings Sunday. He recorded three strikeouts and more importantly, impressed manager Joe Girardi.
"He challenges people. He's not overwhelmed by the situation," Girardi said. "I know he walked a guy [Tony Gwynn Jr.] today, but he kept throwing strike after strike and put a tough at-bat on him. I really liked his approach. I mean, obviously you can see the stuff is there. It's easy to get excited about that, but the approach is really good too."

|(3/8/15) The Phillies are showing an interest in pitchers Luis Severino and Aaron Judge from the Yankees, but general manager Brian Cashman said he's never received a "definite request," according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.
With Cliff Lee dealing with elbow stiffness, pitching could be at a premium for Philadelphia. Severino is considered New York's top prospect, according to Baseball America, and is considered "close to untouchable," according to FOXSports.com.
