Roenis Elias could still pitch in relief
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
|(9/22/14) Though Mariners left-hander Roenis Elias has likely made his last start this season, both because of his sore left elbow and the number of innings he's thrown as a rookie, he could still return as a reliever, according to MLB.com. His role would be limited even if that's the case, though.
"I certainly think he's more than capable, if we decide to put him in the bullpen, of getting a lefty out in a big situation," manager Lloyd McClendon said.

Elias had a precautionary MRI, but the club won't have results until Monday. He was also examined by doctors, who concluded there wasn't a "high level of concern" regarding the injury. Elias has likely been shut down for the rest of the year.
