(6/11/14) Rockies pitching prospect Daniel Winkler, who injured his right elbow Saturday pitching for Double-A Tulsa, will undergo Tommy John surgery, reports the Denver Post. An MRI confirmed Winkler tore his ulnar collateral ligament.
It's another big blow to the organization. Winkler was 5-2 with a 1.41 ERA in 12 starts, with 71 strikeouts in 70 innings, and was "certainly on the Rockies' radar," the report said.

(6/9/14) Rockies starting pitcher prospect Daniel Winkler is scheduled to undergo an MRI after injuring his elbow pitching for Double-A Tulsa. Winkler left his start Saturday in the fourth inning after throwing a changeup, according to The Denver Post.
Winkler has been pitching like an ace for Tulsa, going 5-2 with a 1.41 ERA and 0.71 WHIP in 12 starts. He has 71 strikeouts to 17 walks in 70 innings.
