| (3/5/11) Detroit RP John Bale continued to help his chances to securing a spot in the Tigers bullpen with another scoreless outing during the team's 7-4 loss to Toronto on Saturday. Bale, who spent last season with the Hiroshima Carp in Japan, faced the minimum six batters and allowed one hit while striking out a batter. “He’s a crafty veteran lefty who knows how to pitch and keeps hitters off balance,” Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon, who managed the split-squad game, told MLive.com. “He did a nice job for us.” |
