Preseason Outlook

There are two different ways to look at Fuentes' first season with the Angels. For one, he led baseball with 48 saves. But two, if you put your thumb over that category on the back of his baseball card, you will see a mediocre left-handed reliever -- one with a high ERA and WHIP for a front-line closer. Regardless, Fuentes is the leading option for saves with the Angels, a team that has famously generated a lot of opportunities for the past decade. Fuentes is worthy of being considered among the top 10 closers in Fantasy for that reason alone. The fact the Angels really don't have a great option to replace him as the closer of choice helps at this point. (Updated 1/20/10)
