|Braves interested in bringing back Freddy Garcia |

(12:23 am ET) The Braves are interested in re-signing free-agent pitcher Freddy Garcia, CBSSports.com baseball insider Jon Heyman reports.
Garcia went 1-2 with a 1.65 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB ratio in 27.1 innings after coming to Atlanta from Baltimore, where he went 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB ratio in 53 innings over 11 apperances (10 starts) last season.

(11/6/13) In addition to Brian McCann, who was extended a qualifying offer, and Tim Hudson, who was not, the Braves have had several players file for free agency, including starting pitcher Paul Maholm, relief pitcher Eric O'Flaherty, relief pitcher Luis Ayala, relief pitcher Kameron Loe, relief pitcher Scott Downs and starting pitcher Freddy Garcia.

(10/8/13) The Braves gave the ball to Freddy Garcia Monday night in a must-win situation in Game 4 of the National League Division Series in Los Angeles. Garcia gave Atlanta all he had, but still the Braves were eliminated by the Dodgers.
Garcia took a no-decision as he allowed two earned runs on eight hits and two walks over six strong innings, throwing 101 pitches. David Carpenter gave up the lead in the eighth inning when he allowed a two-run homer to Juan Uribe. Garcia struck out six and allowed two HRs to Carl Crawford, including in the first at-bat of the game for the Dodgers.
The 37-year-old Garcia, who spent a decent portion of the season with Baltimore, went 1-2 over six appearances and three starts down the stretch of the regular season for the Braves with a 1.65 ERA. There is no telling where or if he'll surface in the 2014 season.

(10/6/13) Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Freddy Garcia would be the team's starting pitcher for Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Dodgers on Monday. Gonzalez confirmed that his choice of Garcia would not be contingent on whether the Braves won or lost Game 3 on Sunday.
Garcia made 13 starts this season, three of which were for the Braves. He compiled a 4-7 record with a 4.37 ERA in 80 1/3 innings with the Braves and Orioles in 2013.

(10/2/13) The Braves will put pitcher Freddy Garcia on the playoff roster, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Garcia owns a 1.65 ERA in six games with Atlanta but a 4.37 ERA overall in 80 1/3 innings split between Atlanta and Baltimore. He is currently expected to start a Game 4 if necessary.
