Guzman to miss first half: Free-agent infielder Cristian Guzman said he plans to sit out the first half of the 2011 season because of family issues, his agent told MLB.com on Friday. The site also reported if the issues are not resolved by the summer, Guzman will not play at all this season and will attempt to make a comeback next season. "Hopefully, Cristian will have the family issues sorted out in the next couple of months," his agent Stanley King told MLB.com. (Updated 03/04/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Guzman finished the 2010 season with Texas after being traded by Washington at the trade deadline. He batted .266 with 18 extra-base hits and 26 RBI in 365 at-bats between the two teams. Guzman finished with just 97 hits last season -- the first time since his rookie season he has not topped the century mark when playing more than 50 games. With his production fading coupled with the latest news, Guzman should be avoided in all Fantasy formats for 2011. (Updated 03/04/2011).
