| Stark accepts Triple-A assignment |
| (6/12/09) The Sports Xchange reports that Mariners SP Denny Stark, who had been designated for assignment on Sunday by Seattle, cleared waivers and accepted the Mariners' outright assignment to Triple-A Tacoma. Stark, pitching in the big leagues for the first time since 2004, appeared in nine games for Seattle. He had 1.80 ERA in eight of them, but that was offset by the other performance, one inning with six runs allowed, pushing his ERA to 3.97. |

| (6/7/09) The Mariners recalled catcher Jamie Burke from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday and designated reliever Denny Stark for assignment. Stark went 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA over nine games with Seattle in his first major league action since 2004. The 34-year-old right-hander was out after undergoing Tommy John surgery twice. "I've been grateful for every day that I got to walk into this clubhouse," Stark said. "The fact of everything that I'd been through, I'll walk out of here with my head held high." |
| Stark called up for Morrow |
| (5/2/09) Brandon Morrow is headed to the 15-day disabled list as the Seattle Mariners are taking a cautious approach with the biceps tendinitis bothering their closer. Morrow was placed on the DL Saturday, retroactive to April 24, the day after he last pitched. He will be eligible to be activated May 9. Seattle selected right-hander Denny Stark from Triple-A Tacoma to take Morrow's spot. Seattle now has all spots filled on its 40-man roster. |
| Mariners hand out 17 spring invites |
| (1/15/09) Reliever Denny Stark is among the 17 non-roster players who received invitations to spring training, the Mariners announced Wednesday. The list of invitee includes eight pitchers, three catchers, four infielders and two outfielders. Besides Stark, right-handed pitchers Eric Hull, Chris Jakubauskas, Shawn Kelley, Luis Munoz, Tracy Thorpe and Sean White, along with left-hander Chris Seddon, will report to camp in Peoria, Ariz., Feb. 13. Veteran Jamie Burke heads the list of catchers, which also includes Adam Moore and Luis Oliveros. Infielders Chris Woodward, Callis Crabbe, Oswaldo Navarro and Chris Shelton, and outfielders Freddy Guzman and Prentice Redman also have been invited to camp. |
