| (7/18/10) The Astros purchased the contract of reliever Gary Majewski from Triple-A Round Rock and designated Casey Daigle for assignment Sunday. According to MLB.com, Majewski is expected to report to Chicago in time for Monday's game against the Cubs. In 27 appearances for Round Rock, Majewski was 3-2 with a 4.04 ERA. "A lot of it is with the situation in our bullpen right now, the last couple days and needing to get another arm in here to kind of help out a little bit as well," Astros manager Brad Mills said. "And [Daigle's] been used quite a bit the past couple days." |

| (3/30/10) Infielder Edwin Maysonet and reliever Wilton Lopez were optioned to the Astros' minor league camp Tuesday. In other moves, the team said non-roster invitee reliever Casey Daigle will be reassigned to minor league camp after he pitches with the big league club Thursday. Non-roster invitee relievers Gary Majewski and Gustavo Chacin, infielders Chris Shelton and Drew Meyer, and catcher Kevin Cash will stay with Houston through its home exhibition series against the Blues Jays and then be reassigned to minor league camp. The Astros must make four more cuts by Sunday afternoon to get to the 25-man limit. |

Aramis Ramirez hit three home runs and drove in seven runs to help Chicago rally to beat the Houston Astros 14-7 on Tuesday night hours after Cubs manager Lou Piniella announced he will retire at the end of the season.
