Barajas keeps hot streak going: Pittsburgh catcher Rod Barajas smacked his fourth home run of the season on Sunday in a loss at Detroit. Barajas took Max Scherzer deep in the fifth inning for a solo shot as he finished 1 for 3 on the game. Barajas added a sacrifice fly for a second RBI in the ninth inning. The catcher is batting .220 on the season for the Pirates. (Updated 05/20/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Barajas is about as hot as he gets right now with hits in seven straight games. Barajas has gone 11 for 24 over that span with four runs scored, two doubles, three homers and five RBI. Barajas has all four of his homers in his last nine games. His track record suggests he's not going to keep this up, however, so keep considering him mostly an NL-only Fantasy option. 05/09/2012 00:57 The Lineup: Bombs away, Santana looks to get on track, classless venom toward Werth
Rounding up Tuesday night's action (anyone hear if Josh Hamilton did anything good?), getting ready for Wednesday and hitting some links -- including a ridiculously classless display by some fans in Jayson Werth's direction. It's The Lineup for May 9, 2012.
Rod Barajas continued to struggle to hit for average last season but still provided owners with some decent pop in his first full season with the Dodgers. He batted .220 with eight homers and 21 RBI over his first 56 games before an ankle injury sidelined him in June. He would return a month later and hit eight home runs with 26 RBI over his final 42 games. Barajas signed a one-year deal with the Pirates in the offseason and should see the majority of the starts behind the plate in 2012. At age 36, he can no longer catch every day so expect Michael McKendry to see at least a couple of starts per week, especially as the season goes on. Still, Barajas has posted double-digit home runs seven times in the last eight seasons, and has the power to reach the 20-homer plateau. He can help out owners in Rotisserie formats with his power but target Barajas as more of an NL-only option on Draft Day. (Updated 1/12/12)
