Loux debuts after call up: The Giants made a roster move prior to Fridays game against the Diamondbacks, moving infielder Ryan Theriot to the 15-day disabled list and calling up pitcher Shane Loux from Triple-A. They wasted little time putting Loux to work, as he tossed a scoreless eighth inning, giving up just one hit, in a 5-1 loss to Arizona. (Updated 05/12/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Loux, a long-time starter in the minors, had been practically unhittable in reliever this season, allowing just one run in 21 innings before the call up. He will be used as a long relief man for the Giants out of the pen, given his ability to throw more than one inning at a time if needed. "We need someone to give us multiple innings," manager Bruce Bochy told MLB.com before the game. "We're better off going with 12 pitchers. He was throwing the ball well." Loux is likely to be more of a mop-up guy than anything, so leave him on waivers in all formats. (Updated 05/12/2012).
