Preseason Outlook

Podsednik, a non-factor in Fantasy since he stole 40 bases for the White Sox back in 2006, put himself back on the map last year, coincidentally in his return to the White Sox. After beginning the season in the minor leagues -- an indication of just how far he had fallen -- Podsednik got the call to the majors on May 1 and pretty much became the leadoff hitter right away. He put together one of his best all-around seasons, his .304 batting average representing his best since he hit .314 as a rookie. He's still a one-trick pony and, at age 34, doesn't do that trick quite as well as he used to, but he could still sniff 40 steals. He apparently won over the Royals, signing a free-agent deal with them this offseason. He's worth a flier late in Rotisserie leagues and might even be a bargain if he performs as well as he did last year. (Updated 1/19/10)
