Fantasy Analysis
Hall has played in 15 games at Norfolk and is batting .222 with two homers and seven RBI. He provides the Orioles with some third-base and infield depth but won't see a whole lot of at-bats. Hall has just AL-only Fantasy value. (Updated 05/12/2012).
05/15/2012 22:08 Chen outduels CC, Orioles drop Yanks
Wei-Yin Chen pitched seven innings of four-hit ball, Adam Jones homered and the Baltimore Orioles beat CC Sabathia and the New York Yankees 5-2 Tuesday night.
05/12/2012 22:20 Orioles take advantage of sloppy Rays
The Baltimore Orioles capitalized on five errors by the Tampa Bay Rays and got two hits and two RBI from Adam Jones in a 5-3 victory Saturday night.
05/12/2012 19:25 Yoenis Cespedes, Scott Rolen and Mark Reynolds placed on DL
Three teams made moves before Saturday night's games to place members of their everyday lineup on the disabled list -- the A's Yoenis Cespedes, the Reds' Scott Rolen and the Orioles' Mark Reynolds were all put on the DL.
Bill Hall has experienced quite the drop in production since blasting a career-high 35 home runs with Milwaukee during the 2006 season. In the following five seasons, Hall has recorded only 57 homers total as his power has diminished mightily while also spending time with the Mariners, Red Sox, Astros and Giants. He split last year between Houston and San Francisco, but managed only two home runs -- both with the Astros -- for his lowest total since his rookie season in 2002. He also posted a paltry .211 batting average last year -- the fourth consecutive season he's hit under .250 as his career seems to be winding down at age 32. Hall signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees in February and will compete for a backup infield spot behind Eduardo Nunez. It's clear his best days are behind him and he continues to be one of the biggest strikeout victims in the majors. Fantasy owners should not consider him a worthwhile option in 2012 drafts as his playing time will likely be limited even if he makes the team. (Updated 2/12/12)
