Fantasy Analysis
As anticipated, Paulino saw limited playing behind Matt Wieters and started just one game during the month of May. The 31-year-old is unlikely to serve as an everyday catcher at this point in his career and should be left untouched in all Fantasy formats for now. (Updated 05/07/2012).
05/07/2012 22:06 Rookie Snyder (six RBI) powers Rangers
Brandon Snyder had a home run and six RBI against his former team, and the Texas Rangers beat Baltimore 14-3 on Monday night to end the Orioles' five-game winning streak.
05/05/2012 00:25 Hot Orioles top Red Sox in 13 innings
Chris Davis drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the top of the 13th inning and the Baltimore Orioles outlasted the Boston Red Sox 6-4 on Friday.
Ronny Paulino signed a minor-league deal with the Orioles in the offseason and will attempt to earn the backup role to Matt Wieters during camp. His main competition will be Taylor Teagarden, who has been unimpressive offensively so far in his career, so there is a good chance the 30-year-old can crack the 25-man roster. Paulino batted .268 with two homers and 19 RBI in 228 at-bats with the Mets a year ago and has some decent pop for a backstop. Even if Paulino ends up as the backup in Baltimore, leave him for the deepest of AL-only formats. (Updated 3/5/12)
