Oliver Perez earns first career save
by R.J. White \| CBSSports.com (6/15/13) Mariners pitcher Oliver Perez picked up the first save of his career in Friday's 3-2 win over the A's, giving up one hit and striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning. The Mariners are giving regular closer Tom Wilhelmsen a break from closing duties, and Perez converted his first save chance Friday. He owns a 1.11 ERA and 33:12 K:BB ratio in 24 1/3 innings this season.

Perez to stay on with M's
by Al Melchior \| Data Analyst (11/4/12) The Mariners signed reliever Oliver Perez to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million on Saturday, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Perez's contract also includes as much as $600,000 in performance-based incentives. The lefty resurrected his career in 2012 as a middle reliever, as he posted a 2.12 ERA with five holds over 29 2/3 innings for the Mariners.
