(9/18/14) Diamondbacks lefty reliever Oliver Perez has been shut down with what the team is describing as a dead arm. He is coming off successive appearances last weekend that resulted in decreased velocity and arm soreness.
Perez has yielded seven earned runs in his last two innings pitched. If he is done for the season, it will end with a 3-4 record and 2.86 ERA in a career-high 65 outings.

(9/18/14) The Diamondbacks have shut down pitcher Oliver Perez indefinitely, as he experiences "dead arm," per the Arizona Republic. Perez lasted only one-third of an inning on Sunday, his last appearance. He owns a 2.86 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over 56 2/3 innings of work. It remains to be seen if he'll pitch again this season.
"I think I could go more but sometimes you have to take care of yourself and have a couple days off because it's a long season," Perez said. "When you're tired, you don't have a lot of power."

(8/21/14) Diamondbacks pitcher Oliver Perez was hit with a loss Thursday against the Nationals.
Perez entered a tie game in the eighth inning, and was able to hold the Nationals scoreless for an inning. He came out to start the ninth, but was pulled after giving up a single to Denard Span. Span would steal second against Evan Marshall, and came around to score on a throwing error for the walkoff win. Perez was charged with the run and the loss. He dropped to 2-3.

(7/31/14) The Diamondbacks have not received many trade offers leading up to the deadline, but the Arizona Republic reports Thursday reliever Oliver Perez is one possibility to move before 4 p.m.
Perez has emerged as a valuable contributor out of the Diamondbacks bullpen, posting a 1.94 ERA in 41 2/3 innings of work as a left-handed specialist.

(7/27/14) Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller is believed to be the Braves' top bullpen target with the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline looming, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.
Diamondbacks reliever Oliver Perez, Cubs reliever Wesley Wright, Rangers reliever Neal Cotts, Astros reliever Tony Sipp and Marlins reliever Mike Dunn are other left-handed relievers believed to be available in a trade and could be targets for Atlanta.
