Rivera re-ups with the Dodgers: The Dodgers signed OF Juan Rivera to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million. The contract, which is pending a physical, also includes a $4 million option for the 2013 season. Rivera was traded from the Blue Jays to the Dodgers in midseason this year, and he batted .258 with 11 home runs and 74 RBI for Toronto and Los Angeles. (Updated 11/03/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Rivera is not the power hitter he once was, so even with full-time at-bats, he is an NL-only option at best. However, if the Dodgers are ready to let prospect Jerry Sands take over left field duties, Rivera would be a part-timer, and as such, could be ignored in nearly all Fantasy formats. 01/25/2012 12:05 Positional and pitching eligibility for 2012
Plenty of position players and pitchers with eligibility changes entering 2012. We've got the complete listings for multi-eligible players, starting and relief pitchers and more for your league setup.
Despite lacking an everyday role for each of the last two seasons, Juan Rivera managed to accumulate more than 450 plate appearances in each of those years, and it could be more of the same in 2012. Rivera is a contender to be the Dodgers' opening day left fielder, but there is always the chance he will cobble together at-bats through sporadic starts at the outfield corners and at first base, just as he did last year. It looked as if Rivera's career might be winding down as he hit just .243 with Toronto a year ago, but his bat woke up after he was dealt to the Dodgers in July. Even with a steady stream of starts in left field, Rivera's power is mediocre for a corner outfielder, and most likely, he will fall short of regular playing time. As a result, only owners in NL-only leagues should plan on drafting Rivera. (Updated 2/8/12)
