| (2/17/11) The Denver Post reports that Rockies 3B Joe Crede, who signed a minor league deal in January, has decided not to report to camp. Crede, who has dealt with back problems all of his career, might retire. |

| (1/19/11) The Rockies agreed to a minor-league deal with 3B Joe Crede on Wednesday. Crede didn't play in 2010. He hit .225 with 15 homers for the Twins in 2009. |

| (6/7/10) The Sports Xchange reports 3B Joe Crede has been out of baseball since back problems again hampered him in the 2009 season with the Twins. GM Ken Williams was asked recently if the former Sox third baseman would ever get a call, especially with Mark Teahen on the shelf for at least six weeks with a fractured right middle finger. His reply came without hesitation -- a big "no." |

| (2/28/10) Joe Crede remains an unsigned free agent and Twins GM Billy Smith seems happy not to bring him back. Crede played 3B for the Twins last season but Smith won't call Crede an option to bring back. "We've got a few guys over at third base and a few guys battling for utility positions," he said. "We like the guys we've got." |
