Pirates give Cruz a deal: The Pirates signed RP Juan Cruz to a minor league deal with a spring training invite on Wednesday. Cruz pitched for the Rays in 2011, and he compiled a 3.88 ERA in 56 appearances. (Updated 02/01/2012)
