Preseason Outlook

Kennedy's days of spotty playing time and hollow at-bats appeared numbered when the Rays released him last spring, but something changed when he signed on with the Athletics in May. In the place where aging veterans usually go to die, he found the fountain of youth, playing better than he ever had before. He hit .390 that first month and finished just as strong, hitting .349 in September and October. And while he finished the season hitting only .289, the fact remains he had several periods where he mattered in mixed leagues, aided in part by his 11 home runs and 20 stolen bases. His long history of mediocrity and 34 years of age make him a low-end Fantasy option at best, but assuming he maintains a full-time role in Washington and doesn't fall into the platoon trap as a left-handed hitter, you shouldn't dismiss him entirely.
