Preseason Outlook

The well-paid Royal is coming off the worst season of his career and is now a late-round Fantasy option on Draft Day. We never like to advise picking a pitcher coming off shoulder trouble, unless you can be absolutely sure that the shoulder is sound and you will be getting him at a significant discount. The latter is at least true for Meche's Fantasy owners in 2010. He will be affordable, but you cannot be sure how well his shoulder will hold up. The fact that Meche will open the season with the lowly Royals certainly doesn't help his case either. (Updated 1/12/10)
