Molina is considered day-to-day.

| Jose Molina's bat wakes up |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/14/13) Rays catcher Jose Molina had a good game at the plate on Tuesday during a 5-3 win over Boston. Molina drove in two runs.
The backstop went 3 for 3 with a double. He smacked a two-run single to center in the fourth inning and later scored in the frame.
The three hits improved his average to .194. Molina had not recorded a hit in his previous seven games and was 0 for 22 over that stretch.

| Jose Molina has RBI vs. Padres |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/12/13) Rays catcher Jose Molina, who missed his last two games with a bruised knee, returned to action Sunday afternoon against the Padres.
Molina hit a sacrifice fly in the second and finished 0 for 3 with an RBI in the 4-2 victory. He is hitting .159/.213/.232 with a home run and four RBI in 69 at-bats.

| Jose Molina back from two-game absence |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/12/13) Rays catcher Jose Molina returned to the starting lineup Sunday against the Padres after missing two straight games with a bruised knee. Molina is batting .059 (2 for 34) in his last 11 games, dropping his season average from .281 to .167.
|
| Jose Molina has been a backup for most of his career, but last season, he was the Rays' primary catcher, starting 80 games. Molina has never been known for his bat, and he didn't help that perception in 2012, batting .223. He did club a career-high eight home runs, which may not sound like much, but over 251 at-bats, it's a sign of decent power. However, Molina is not a strong bet to start much more than half of the schedule, hit for average or get on base frequently. He will play just enough and provide just enough offense to merit a pick in AL-only leagues. (Updated 1/2/13) |
