| (3/10/08) The Nationals reassigned RHP Collin Balester, RHP Rob Bell, LHP Eude Brito, RHP Bobby Brownlie, RHP Adam Carr, SS Ian Desmond, OF Jason Dubois, C Javier Herrera, 1B Luis Jimenez, SS Ed Rogers, RHP Brian Sanches, LHP Jason Stanford and RHP Dennis Tankersley to minor league camp. Also, they optioned OF Rogeravin Bernadina to Double-A Harrisburg, RHP Tyler Clippard to Triple-A Columbus, LHP Ross Detwiler to Class A Potomac, OF Justin Maxwell to Double-A Harrisburg, RHP Garrett Mock and 1B Josh Whitesell to Triple-A Columbus. Finally, they released C Chad Moeller unconditionally. |
| Stanford among Nats spring invitees |
| (11/28/07) Left-hander Mike Bacsik, who gave up Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th homer, agreed to terms on a minor league deal with the Nationals. Bacsik was among 19 minor league free agents the Nationals announced Tuesday agreed to contracts and were invited to spring training. The other minor league free agents, several of whom have major league experience, are right-handers Steven Shell, Dennis Tankersley, Bobby Brownlie, Tristan Crawford and Jim Ed Warden; left-handers Mike Hinckley, Arnie Munoz and Jason Stanford; catchers Humberto Cota and Chad Moeller; infielders William Bergolla, Yurendell de Caster, Antonio Perez, Luis Jimenez and Ed Rogers; and outfielders Jason Dubois, Tommy Murphy and Jorge Padilla. |
| Stanford in some legal trouble |
| (9/21/07) Former Cleveland Indians pitcher Jason Stanford pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of disorderly conduct involving an alleged scuffle in a nightclub district. Stanford, 30, who was designated for assignment by the Indians on Aug. 4, appeared in Cleveland Municipal Court with his attorney. He was released on $250 bond, and the case was scheduled for an Oct. 30 trial. |

| (8/12/07) LHP Jason Stanford, designated for assignment Aug. 4, has accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Buffalo. He was 1-1 with a 4.78 ERA in two starts and six relief appearances. |
