Baldelli to retire: OF Rocco Baldelli announced his retirement Wednesday. Baldelli debuted in the majors with Tampa Bay in 2003 and spent all of his career with the Rays' organization, except for the 2009 season, which he played with Boston. He played sparingly in recent years due to chronic muscle fatigue, and appeared in just 10 regular season games and one postseason game with the Rays last season. He will take a position with the Rays as a special adviser to the front office. (Updated 01/26/2011)
