David Ross smacks fourth home run Saturday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6/28/14) Red Sox catcher David Ross went 1 for 3 with a solo home run in his team's 2-1 win over the Yankees Saturday.

Ross put his team up briefly with his home run in the top of the third inning, but the Yankees were able to even it up in the bottom half of the inning before the Red Sox scored the decisive homer in the ninth. Two of Ross' four home runs have come in his last two games, and he owns a .180/.240/.371 line with 89 at-bats.

A.J. Pierzynski sits in favor of David Ross on Friday night
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5/16/14) Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski is a rare breed in that he has handled Tigers ace Max Scherzer quite well in his career to the tune of a .333 batting average and .515 slugging percentage. But he won't get a chance to enhance those numbers Friday night - he is out of the lineup.

The Sox have elected to go instead with David Ross, who has developed a strong working relationship with Boston starter Jon Lester. Lester owns a 2.45 career ERA and 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings with Ross behind the plate, WEEI.com has reported.

David Ross available Tuesday after rolling ankle
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5/13/14) Red Sox catcher David Ross limped off the field during pregame activities, but the injury is just a rolled ankle, and he's available to play Tuesday if needed, the Boston Herald reports.

Ross' playing time has been spotty as the No. 2 catcher, but he's just 1 for 16 in his last five games.

David Ross hits first home run Monday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(4/21/14) Red Sox catcher David Ross, who was playing in just his seventh game, connected for his first home run during a 7-6 loss Monday against the Orioles. It was a solo home run off Zach Britton in the seventh inning.

Ross finished 1 for 3 with two runs and one strikeout. He is batting .238 (5 for 21) through seven games.

David Ross strikes out twice in return Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/7/14) Red Sox catcher David Ross went 0 for 2 with two strikeouts in his return to action Friday as the Red Sox defeated the Braves, 4-1.

Ross hadn't played since Sunday due to a foot injury. He's been slow out of the gate this spring, going 0 for 6 with four strikeouts in three games.
