Bourgeois a late replacement: Houston OF Jason Bourgeois was out of the starting lineup for another game on Saturday as he continues to deal with a sore left wrist. He hasn't taken batting practice in a few days, although he did serve as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning in Friday's game against the Rockies. Bourgeois also entered the game as a pinch runner in the ninth inning and stayed in to finish 0 for 2 during the Astros' 4-2 loss in 13 innings. (Updated 09/24/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Bourgeois is batting .295 with one home run, 15 RBI and 31 stolen bases this season. While he doesn't hold a lot of Fantasy value, Bourgeois is a decent option in deeper Rotisserie leagues and NL-only formats, when healthy. Continue to monitor his status, as he eyes a return for the final series of the season. (Updated 09/24/2011).
02/08/2012 04:32 2012 Fantasy outlooks: Houston Astros
To say the Houston Astros are rebuilding is an understatement, but they have more than a few surprises in the form of young talent. Michael Hurcomb breaks down the American League-bound franchise in his Fantasy team outlook.
Jason Bourgeois got off to a scorching start in 2011 and ended up with some decent stats despite being sidelined with injuries. He batted .407 with 12 stolen bases over his first 28 games before an oblique injury kept him out of action for nearly a month. He battled a knee injury in July but saw some regular playing time when healthy. He finished with season with a .294 average, .323 slugging percentage and 31 stolen bases in 93 games. Bourgeois enters 2012 as an intriguing option in Fantasy. If he can see regular playing time, he could do some damage on the base paths. But as a fourth outfielder for Houston, his value will lie mainly in NL-only and deeper Rotisserie formats. Keep an eye on how the 30-year-old does during spring training before drafting Bourgeois in larger Fantasy leagues. (Updated 1/9/12)
