| Greg Dobbs likely to see more starts at first base |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/30/13) Marlins infielder Greg Dobbs started his second straight game at first base Monday against the Mets and will likely continue to see more starts after Joe Mahoney (hamstring) was placed on the disabled list. Dobbs finished 2 for 6 with one run, one double and one walk during Monday's 15-inning win.
It was Dobbs' fifth multi-hit game this season. He's batting .240 (18 for 75) through 24 appearances. He has one home run, three doubles and seven RBI.

| Greg Dobbs' hitting streak at five games |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (4/17/13) Marlins first baseman Greg Dobbs went 1 for 4 Wednesday to extend his hitting streak to five games. He has hit .261/.327/.370 with one home run in 52 plate appearances this year.
Despite the hitting streak, Dobbs may be in for a reduction in playing time with Joe Mahoney, a much needed power hitter, now on the roster.

| Greg Dobbs earns night off |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (4/10/13) Marlins corner infielder Greg Dobbs received the night off Wednesday after starting at first base for six straight days. Dobbs, who has been the team's preferred option at first with Casey Kotchman injured, is hitting .250/.321/.375 in 28 plate appearances this season.

| Greg Dobbs takes over as Marlins' first baseman |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/4/13) The Marlins announced Thursday first baseman Casey Kotchman, who suffered a strained left hamstring Wednesday, will be placed on the disabled list Friday.
Greg Dobbs, who started in Kotchman's place Thursday at Washington, will see most of the starts at first base in Kotchman's absence, according to The Palm Beach Post.
Dobbs entered play Thursday without a hit in two pinch-hit appearances. However, he hit .279 in 254 games for Miami from 2011-12. Unfortunately, he slugged .388 in that span.

| Greg Dobbs returns from calf strain |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (3/19/13) Marlins infielder Greg Dobbs returned to the starting lineup Tuesday afternoon against the Cardinals in Grapefruit League play. Dobbs, who was sidelined since Feb. 24 with a right-calf strain, went 0 for 3 and left three men on base in a 5-4 loss. He's hitting .167 through two minor-league games.

Marlins rout Phils, Halladay; righty to have shoulder tests

| Aside from Hanley Ramirez's half-season at the hot corner, the Marlins have had problems finding a regular third baseman over the last two years, but Greg Dobbs has received 114 starts at the position over that span. The Marlins signed Placido Polanco this offseason, so starts will probably be harder to come by for Dobbs in 2013. Even as a starter, Dobbs has limited appeal for Fantasy, as he has lost some of the home run thump he showed when he was with the Phillies. Dobbs still has gap power, so he can produce a decent batting average, but that's about all that Fantasy owners can count on. Only consider drafting Dobbs in deeper NL-only leagues.
