| Ramon Santiago doubles hit total |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/5/13) Tigers infielder Ramon Santiago made his 10th start in Sunday's series finale against the Astros and had a productive day at the plate. He went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a walk in the 9-0 win.
The 33-year-old doubled in his first at-bat before singling his next time up.
Santiago is batting .154 (4 for 26).

| Ramon Santiago available for Tigers |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/27/13) Tigers manager Jim Leyland said infielder Ramon Santiago, who has been out since Saturday with dehydration issues, is "fine," MLive.com reports.
Leyland said Santiago is available to play, if needed.
He was briefly hospitalized April 20 and received two bags of IV fluid after he complained of stomach issues.
Santiago is batting .105 with no RBI after 19 at-bats.

| Ramon Santiago still absent from starting lineup |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (4/26/13) Tigers infielder Ramon Santiago has not played in a game since he was sent to the hospital Saturday with symptoms of dehydration. The 33-year-old was not in the starting lineup Friday and has missed five games since being hospitalized.

| Still no sign of Ramon Santiago |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (4/25/13) Tigers infielder Ramon Santiago remained inactive Thursday against the Royals, the fourth game in a row he has missed since being hospitalized due to dehydration.
Santiago is just a utility infielder for the Tigers, so he does not play everyday anyways. He is batting .105 in 19 at-bats.

| Ramon Santiago still sitting out |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/24/13) Tigers infielder Ramon Santiago remained on the bench Wednesday in a win over the Royals. Santiago is day to day and hasn't played since Saturday.
He was sent to the hospital Saturday with symptoms of dehydration. The 33-year-old doesn't usually see consistent at-bats. He's batting .105 over 19 at-bats.

| After three straight seasons with 290 or more plate appearances, Ramon Santiago saw his playing time decline in 2012. In fact, his playing time all but evaporated upon the arrival of Omar Infante, who became the Tigers' regular second baseman after getting traded from the Marlins in July. Infante is back for 2013, so Santiago will likely continue to be a rarely-used utility man. He should rebound from last season's anemic .206 batting average, but given how little playing time he is poised to receive, Santiago will only be a viable option in very deep AL-only leagues.
