Preseason Outlook

Choo entered last season as one of the biggest sleepers in Fantasy after his loud return from Tommy John surgery in 2008, and he didn't disappoint. He couldn't maintain his eye-opening .946 OPS over an entire season, but nobody expected him to. His .883 mark was still plenty impressive, and his .394 on-base percentage ranked 18th among players with at least 400 at-bats. A complete unknown to the Fantasy world before that '08 season, he was one of 14 players to have 20 homers and 20 steals last year, and he might have even more power in store as he enters his age-27 season. About his only drawback was his 151 strikeouts, but given his lack of experience, you can overlook those. With an improved Indians lineup -- something that has to happen just by the law of averages -- Choo might put together a .300-25-100-100-20 line. Because you have to temper your expectations on the RBI and runs scored, you wouldn't want to draft him as more than a No. 2 outfielder, but he'll more likely gain value than lose it.
