| Scott Atchison moved to disabled list |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (5/14/13) The Mets placed pitcher Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation, the team announced. Atchison, who developed the inflammation from bone spurs aggravating the nerve in his elbow, will not throw for a week before attempting to resume baseball activities.

| Scott Atchison likely headed to DL |
by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com (5/14/13) Mets reliever Scott Atchison experienced numbness in his fingers during his appearance in Monday's series opener against the Cardinals and will likely be heading to the disabled list, ESPN reports.
Atchison allowed one run on three hits and did not record an out in a 6-3 defeat.
"I had been battling a little bit some soreness -- stuff that I knew I could handle pitching through," Atchison said. "Today, the problem was the numbness returned to my fingers. So gripping the ball is a little tough when you've got some tingling through my fingers. I was not really able to finish some pitches."
He is scheduled to be re-evaluated Tuesday.

| Fresh faces adorn Mets' bullpen |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (3/29/13) The Mets finalized their new-look bullpen Friday, awarding roster spots to Scott Rice, LaTroy Hawkins and Scott Atchison. All three players had their contracts purchased from Triple-A Las Vegas to become members of the active roster.

| Mets GM upbeat about bullpen |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (3/20/13) The New York Post reports Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is optimistic the team's bullpen will be much better in 2013 after he has seen promising performances this spring from newcomers Brandon Lyon, LaTroy Hawkins, Scott Atchison, Greg Burke and Pedro Feliciano. The Mets' bullpen ranked 29th in the majors last season in ERA (4.65).
“I think we have a little more confidence in the bullpen than we had toward the end of spring training last year,” Alderson said. “It’s all about performance in the regular season, but it seems that we have a better assortment of veteran arms and we’ve got several pitchers from both the right and left side coming up through the system to give us a lot more depth and are competing for a spot in the bullpen, so that’s a very different situation than we had last year.”

| Elbow woes a memory for Atchison |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (2/13/13) Mets reliever Scott Atchison, who has a minor league deal after coming over from Boston and will participate in spring training, feels good and doesn't have any lingering problems with his elbow after missing two months last year with a torn ligament, reports ESPN. I got back and I felt normal in the five outings I made in September, Atchison said Wednesday. I was able to throw multiple innings in a couple of those outings and different things to prove to myself that I was fine. I havent had any problems getting going here. So I feel like Im where I need to be, just like I would be any other spring, and Ill go about it normally.
