Fantasy Analysis
Wellemeyer had been dealing with a hip injury down on the farm and got lit up in his only start. He tried winning a spot in the rotation with the Cubs during the spring but the 32-year-old couldn't beat out Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner and has now decided to call it a career. He was mostly a low-end Fantasy option in his prime and can be ignored in all formats going forward. (Updated 05/07/2011).
