Hammer has 12 RBI in 14 games: Twins outfielder Josh Willingham ripped a two-RBI single and scored once in five at-bats Tuesday against the White Sox. Willingham is batting .286 (14 for 49) with three homers, six doubles, 10 walks and 12 RBI in his last 14 games. He also has a .407 OBP, .592 slugging percentage and .999 OPS in that 14-game span. Fantasy Analysis
You want to talk about Draft Day value, then look no further than Willingham. A late-round option at best in mixed leagues, Willingham has been the 16th best Fantasy scoring outfielder through Tuesday's games. Some of his numbers are a little higher than his career averages, but for the most part Willingham isn't far off his career numbers. He might hit a little lull at some point, but for now Willingham remains a viable Fantasy start in all formats. (Updated 05/23/2012).

Josh Willingham is the latest in a long line of OPS specialists to struggle with OPS as soon as he joins the organization that values it the most -- Oakland. Even with a career-high 29 homers, he produced his lowest OPS (.810) for a full season. His .246 batting average was also a new low, and his 150 strikeouts were by far a new high. It's as if he looked around the Oakland locker room, saw he was about the only real source of power on the team and, therefore, began swinging out of his shoes. Hopefully he doesn't do the same in Minnesota, because after signing a three-year deal with the Twins this offseason, he'll be joining another less-than-stellar lineup in another pitcher's park. A return to form for Joe Mauer or Justin Morneau would take some of the pressure off and hopefully allow Willingham to get back to doing what he did in Washington, producing an OPS in the .850 range with 20-25 homers. Those numbers would potentially make him a No. 3 Fantasy outfielder, but because of the down season and his propensity for injury -- he's averaging just 121.3 games over his last four seasons -- he'll be no more than a late-rounder on Draft Day.
