| Dioner Navarro parks third home run |

(4/28/13) Cubs backup catcher Dioner Navarro, who was making just his sixth start of the season, hit a solo home run off Steve Cishek in the ninth inning of Sunday's loss against the Marlins. It was Navarro's third home run.
Navarro is batting .167 (5 for 30) with four RBI in 15 games.

(4/13/13) Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro slugged a two-run, pinch-hit homer in a 3-2 loss to San Francisco Saturday. It was Navarro's second career pinch-hit home run in two days, each hit from a different side of the plate. His tying homer in the ninth Friday was hit from the left side.

| (2/24/13) Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro had a productive day at the plate in his spring debut on Sunday against the Giants. He went 1 for 1 with a homer and a walk in the 4-3 win. He launched a three-run shot off starter Matt Cain in the first inning. Navarro is competing with Steve Clevenger and Welington Castillo for playing time behind the plate this spring.

| Dioner Navarro finished 2012 with his highest average (.290) since 2008. He had just 69 at-bats, but managed two home runs and three doubles -- although he hit .319 with 12 doubles in 207 minor league at-bats. Now with the Cubs, Navarro projects as the backup to Wellington Castillo, although his status is somewhat complicated with Steve Clevenger in the mix, as well.
