Casey Kotchman continues to fly under the radar in most Fantasy circles. He turned a minor league contract into a full-time job with Tampa Bay last season, enjoying a breakout campaign in which he batted a career-best .306 with 10 homers and 48 RBI while appearing in a career-high 146 games. Kotchman was also one of only three American League first basemen -- Detroit's Miguel Cabrera and Boston's Adrian Gonzalez were the others -- to finish in the top 10 in both batting average and on-base percentage while appearing in at least 40 games at the position. Now, he could patrol first base for the Indians after signing a one-year deal in early February. Kotchman, who bats left-handed, is expected to compete for Cleveland’s starting job during spring training with Matt LaPorta and Russ Canzler. He could hold the advantage as he is a career .268 hitter and ranks as one of the best defensive first basemen in the majors. But with a lack of sufficient power, he remains just a late-round option in AL-only Fantasy drafts for 2012. (Updated 2/6/12)
