Bullington headed to Japan: The Royals have asked unconditional release waivers on SP Bryan Bullington, allowing the right-hander to sign with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Japan's Central League. The 30-year-old Bullington was designated for assignment on Nov. 19. He was 1-4 with a 6.12 ERA in five starts and eight relief appearances for Kansas City. Bullington was pitcher of the year at Triple-A Omaha, going 8-2 with a 2.82 ERA in 15 starts and five relief appearances. (Updated 11/24/2010)
