(3/1/13) Cubs pitcher Dontrelle Willis said Friday he is no longer experiencing tightness in his left shoulder after being removed from his first Cactus League appearance earlier this week, CSN Chicago reports. Willis left last Monday's game against the Dodgers after facing just one batter, which went for a walk, but has since resumed his normal throwing schedule. The 31-year-old is expected to open the upcoming season with Triple-A Iowa.
|Willis dealing with shoulder issue |
|(2/25/13) Cubs pitcher Dontrelle Willis made his first appearance of the spring on Monday against the Dodgers but it did not last long. He walked the only batter he faced before leaving due to tightness in his shoulder. The bullpen would allow the inherited runner to score and Willis ended up with the loss in the 7-6 defeat. Its frustrating, Willis told MLB.com. I worked real hard to get back and finally get in a groove and this happens. Ill overcome it. Ive done it before. Just go back to the drawing board.
