Fantasy Analysis
The Tigers would use Izturis to play either second or third base and a move to a more potent lineup would increase his value in Fantasy. Keep an eye on the situation going forward to see if the two teams can work out a deal. He showed last season that he can contribute when healthy but Izturis should continue to be viewed as more of an option for deeper mixed leagues on Draft Day. (Updated 11/29/2011).

Maicer Izturis saw the most extensive playing time of his career in 2011 and put up some decent numbers while playing all over the infield for the Angels. He batted .331 with three homers and 13 RBI through his first 33 games before his production took a hit. He finished the season with a .276 average and hit five homers with 38 RBI. He is more well known for his defense and ability to get on base and usually plays the field a couple of time per week to give the likes of Howard Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Alberto Callaspo a spell. But since he is a backup infielder for the Angels, leave Izturis for deeper Fantasy formats on Draft Day. (Updated 2/9/12)
