Fantasy Analysis
Overall, Izturis has appeared in 17 games for the Angels this season as he has played covered every infield position except first base. The 31-year-old seems to have welcomed his role with the team and relished his opportunity for playing time. He currently leads the team in stolen bases with six -- triple the total of the team's next player (Howard Kendrick). Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end reserve in AL-only formats. 05/13/2012 20:18 Hit Parade for Week 7
As interleague play gets under way there are many matchups to break down. Our Scott White tells you who the best bets and biggest risks are in his Hit Parade for Week 7.
Maicer Izturis saw the most extensive playing time of his career in 2011 and put up some decent numbers while playing all over the infield for the Angels. He batted .331 with three homers and 13 RBI through his first 33 games before his production took a hit. He finished the season with a .276 average and hit five homers with 38 RBI. He is known for his defense and ability to get on base and usually plays the field a couple of times per week to give the likes of Howard Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Alberto Callaspo a spell. But since he is a backup infielder for the Angels, leave Izturis for deeper Fantasy formats on Draft Day. (Updated 2/13/12)
