Cedeno signs with Mets: The Mets signed SS Ronny Cedeno to a one-year, $1.15 million deal on Friday. Cedeno batted .249 with two homers and 32 RBI for the Pirates last season. (Updated 01/13/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The Mets are looking for some depth at shortstop since losing Jose Reyes to the Marlins. Ruben Tejada is expected to be the starter, but Cedeno could be a quality replacement in case Tejada is injured or falters. It's just that Cedeno is more of a defensive option. Cedeno is barely worth the flier in NL-only Fantasy formats. (Updated 01/13/2012).
