(1:31 am ET) The Texas Rangers optioned catcher Robinson Chirinos to Triple-A Round Rock Monday. Chirinos is clearing the way for A.J. Pierzynski's return from the DL Tuesday.
Chirinos had three hits over 12 at-bats as the backup catcher while Pierzynski was on the shelf.

(5/10/13) As expected, the Rangers recalled catcher Robinson Chirinosfrom Triple-A Round Rock Wednesday. Chirinos hit .295/.404/.487 with two home runs in 94 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.
"He's a good receiver -- catch-and-throw guy," manager Ron Washington told MLB.com. "Good power to the opposite field. He gives you a good at-bat."

(5/8/13) Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos will be recalled from Triple-A with A.J. Pierzynski headed to the disabled list, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Chirinos has 60 plate appearances worth of experience in the major leagues, all coming with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2011. He has hit .295/.404/.487 with two home runs in 94 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.

(4/8/13) The Rangers acquired catcher Robinson Chirinos from the Rays in exchange for a player to be named later, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Chirinos, who was designated for assignment Sunday, was assigned to Triple-A Round Rock.

(3/31/13) The Rays designated catcher Robinson Chirinos for assignment Sunday to make room on the 40-man roster, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The 29-year-old Chirinos hit .222 this spring over nine at-bats. He last played in the majors in 2011 with Tampa Bay and hit .218 over 55 at-bats that year.
