| Nick Swisher not in Indians' lineup |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (3:07 pm ET) Indians outfielder Nick Swisher is not in the team's lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.
Swisher is out of the lineup for "family reasons." There's no indication if this issue will cause Swisher to miss multiple games. He's hitting .274/.382/.493 in 146 at-bats. He's been replaced by Mark Reynolds.

| Nick Swisher hits sixth home run |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/15/13) Indians outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher went deep on Wednesday during a 10-4 win over Cole Hamels and the Phillies.
Swisher took Hamels deep for a two-run blast, his sixth of the year, in the fifth inning. He finished 1 for 5 with two RBI and is batting .273.
The 32-year-old Swisher has recorded at least one base hit in nine of his last 10 games and has three homers and six RBI over that span. He has raised his average nearly 20 percentage points over that stretch.

| Time to get Nick Swisher active |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) Indians first baseman Nick Swisher has hit safely in six of seven games since returning from a brief absence due to a shoulder injury, with three home runs, four RBI and a .308 batting average. Alternating pretty regularly between first base and designated hitter, with the occasional outfielder appearance should help keep Swisher healthy and active.
Now that he is over his lingering shoulder issue, Fantasy owners should feel comfortable getting Swisher active.

| Nick Swisher comes up a homer short of cycle |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) Indians designated hitter Nick Swisher fell a home run short of the cycle Friday night, going 3 for 4 with a single, double and triple. He also scored two runs and tallied one RBI against the Tigers.
Swisher, who homered in each of his previous two games heading into Friday, has compiled a five-game hitting streak, elevating his season line to .275/.375/.495 in 128 plate appearances.

| Nick Swisher getting confidence back |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Nick Swisher was one of three Indians' players to homer during Thursday's 9-2 win against the Athletics. Swisher led off the third by pulling Bartolo Colon's first pitch over the wall in right field for his fifth homer and second in two days.
Swisher came into play Thursday batting .182 (8 for 44) in his last 12 games, but he has three home runs in six May games and feels his swing is coming around.
"I'm starting to feel a little better," Swisher told MLB.com prior to Thursday's game. "I feel like I've been getting a hit a game. I haven't had that breakout game in the past week, but for me, I'm just getting that confidence back and making sure the shoulder is 100 percent. It's starting to feel like I've got a little whip in my stick."

| Nick Swisher continued his remarkably consistent play in 2012, hitting .272 with 24 home runs and 93 runs batted in. He scored 75 runs and tied a career-high with 36 doubles. Over the last three years, Swisher has averaged 25 home runs, 89 RBI and hits at about a .274 rate. Pick nearly any offensive stat and Swisher came close to that three-year average last season. At 32, Swisher is about to begin the downside of his peak, but he's shown enough consistency to believe that he will at least come close to these numbers no matter where he lands. The move to Cleveland in 2013 -- out of cozy Yankee Stadium -- may initially look like a cause for concern, but Swisher actually hit more home runs on the road in 2012, so it's not an end-all, be-all. Expect 2012-type numbers from Swisher in 2013 -- he's at least earned that much based on his solid performances the last few seasons. He makes for a nice middle round pick on Draft Day.
