| Jose Bautista homers twice in defeat |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (6/11/13) Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista homered twice Monday night in a 10-6 loss at the White Sox.
Bautista went 2 for 4 with five RBI with both homers coming off starter Dylan Axelrod. He hit a two-run shot in the first inning and returned from a fog delay to hit a three-run homer in the fourth. He added a walk and is batting .267 with 14 home runs and 35 RBI.
Bautista has gone 6 for 16 over a three-game hitting streak with two walks.

| Jose Bautista snaps slump with three hits |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (6/9/13) Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista put to rest a slump Sunday at home during a loss to the Rangers. Bautista recorded three hits in the game.
The slugger went 3 for 4 with a walk and three singles as he scored a run for the Blue Jays. He's batting .263. Bautista has gone 4 for 12 in his last two games and has recorded at least one hit in four of his last six.
Still, he was just 4 for 45 (.089) over his previous nine games entering Sunday's three-hit contest.

| Jose Bautista steals two bases |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (6/5/13) Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista recorded two stolen bases Wednesday during a 4-0 win at San Francisco. He now has five on the season.
Bautista scored a run as he went 1 for 4 with an RBI single to left field in the fifth inning. He later scored in the frame. Bautista is batting .263.
The slugger has just two hits in his last five games spanning 26 at-bats with one extra-base hit and two RBI over that span. He's slumping right now so hopefully the stolen bases help to jump start his bat.

| Jose Bautista proving his elite status |
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer (5/24/13) Over his first 24 games this year, the Blue Jays' Jose Bautista hit .207. Over his last 16 games, he's hitting .370.
Yet I'm sure if he gets off to another slow start next year, as he did this year and last year, we'll again hear tales of want and worry, of him wrecking one's draft and killing one's Fantasy team. Such is the nature of things.
Maybe hundreds of years from now, when mankind has taken on a reptilian form and migrated to the moon on unobtainium shuttles funded by the altruism of our utopian society, we'll have grown comfortable with the ways of Bautista and those like him. But by then, he'll have long retired, and those same fears will have manifested for the premier slugger of that time, Gjyek P'tan.
Such is the nature of things.

AL All-Star ballot update: Oriolesmania
The latest All-Star balloting update has been released by MLB, and the Orioles are on pace to have four starters (and two others are in second).
|
| Jose Bautista got off to a very slow start in 2012, but was turning things around before a wrist injury derailed his campaign. After batting just .181 with three home runs and 10 RBI in April, he would hit 24 long balls with 55 RBI over his next 67 contests while slugging a stellar .608. Left wrist inflammation landed him on the disabled list in mid-July, however, and Bautista would play in just two more games down the stretch before undergoing surgery in September. The 32-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of spring training but owners should keep an eye on his progress during the offseason to make sure he will not have a late start in 2013. Bautista has become a prolific power hitter since coming to Toronto in 2008 and with all of the moves the Blue Jays made during the offseason, he should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs in a revamped lineup. Bautista has averaged more than 41 home runs with 97 RBI and a .593 slugging percentage over the last three seasons and while there is a bit of an injury risk involved with the three-time All-Star, he is still worth taking with an early pick on Draft Day.
