McLouth agrees to return to Bucs: MLB.com reports that the Pirates agreed to sign OF Nate McLouth to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million on Tuesday. McLouth has played for the Braves for the last two-and-a-half seasons after beginning his major league career in Pittsburgh. He missed the last two months of this past season with a sports hernia, and he struggled with it all season long. McLouth batted just .228 in 81 games. (Updated 12/07/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
McLouth is no lock to win a starting job in the Pirates' outfield, but if he does, he has a chance to help owners in NL-only leagues. If healthy, McLouth could provide moderate power with an upside of 20 stolen bases. (Updated 12/07/2011).
01/25/2012 10:56 2012 Fantasy outlooks: Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates made great strides (for them) in 2011, so what does the 2012 campaign have in store for their fans and Fantasy owners? Our al Melchior puts Pittsburgh under the Fantasy microscope.
Nate McLouth rejoined the team that drafted him this past offseason and will be looking to get back on track after two and a half abysmal years in Atlanta. He batted just .210 with 10 homers, 40 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 166 games for the Braves over the last two years. McLouth also missed the last two months of 2011 with a sports hernia, struggling with the injury all season. He signed a one-year deal with the Pirates and will compete for a starting outfield spot during spring training so keep an eye on his progress. McLouth was a 20-20 performer in his younger days with Pittsburgh, and while his power has fallen off a bit, the 30-year-old still has enough speed to matter in Fantasy. He will only have value if he wins a starting job, however, and even if he does, leave McLouth for NL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 1/12/12)
