After some initial struggles, Schumaker made a relatively smooth conversion to the infield last season, allowing the Cardinals to keep him in the lineup. He stood little chance of getting regular at-bats in the outfield with the emergence of Ryan Ludwick and the arrival of Colby Rasmus, so he spent most of his time a second base -- a move that likely salvaged what little Fantasy appeal he had in mixed leagues. He has almost no power or speed, but as a contact hitter batting at the top of the Cardinals lineup, he has the opportunity to score 85-90 runs. His complete lack of upside and the likelihood he sits against tough left-handers make him a better waiver claim than draft pick in mixed leagues, but he has something to offer even if his numbers don't stand out.
