Granderson collects HR No. 14: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson had a productive night at the plate in Wednesday's series finale against the Royals. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs scored and a walk in the 8-3 win. He launched a solo shot off Will Smith in his first at-bat for his 14th long ball of the year. Fantasy Analysis
Granderson has hit six homers in May as he continues to provide the Yankees with some pop near the top of the lineup. After a breakout campaign in his first season in New York, he appears in line for another productive campaign. While the 31-year-old strikes out more than owners would like to see, his all-around production makes Granderson a must-start option in all Fantasy leagues. (Updated 05/23/2012).

Alex Rodriguez gave Will Smith a rude welcome to the major leagues Wednesday night, hitting two homers off the rookie to back another strong start for Andy Pettitte and lead the New York Yankees against the Kansas City Royals 8-3.
05/22/2012 22:01 Cano, Jeter lift Yankees over Royals

05/19/2012 16:47 Reds nip Yanks behind Votto's big HR
Joey Votto hit a three-run homer, Jose Arredondo worked out of a ninth-inning jam for his first major-league save and the Cincinnati Reds held off the New York Yankees 6-5 Saturday.
05/17/2012 22:02 Bautista homers again; Blue Jays deal faltering Yankees third loss in row
Jose Bautista and J.P. Arencibia each hit two-run home runs, Drew Hutchison won back-to-back starts for the first time and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 4-1 on Thursday night, sweeping their two-game series.
When Granderson was traded from the Tigers to the Yankees two seasons ago, many Fantasy owners and observers expected a major increase in his power numbers. That bump did come, but a year later than anticipated, as Granderson exploded for 41 homers last season. Most impressive, Granderson achieved the outburst without a notable increase in his flyball rate, so he was able to nudge his on-base percentage and batting average upwards while he was also boosting his slugging percentage. Granderson also remains a stolen base threat (he swiped 25 bags) and his well-rounded skill set has catapulted him into the outfield elite. If Fantasy owners wait until after the first round to draft him, they will have probably waited too long. (Updated 2/13/12)
