| Braves add Gorecki for OF depth |
| (8/17/09) Braves center fielder Nate McLouth is headed to the disabled list with a sore left hamstring. The Braves purchased the contract of outfielder Reid Gorecki from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. McLouth left Saturday's game against the Phillies after aggravating a hamstring injury that forced him to miss two games last week. Gorecki was expected to join the team in time for Monday's game against Arizona. He was hitting .286 with nine home runs, 49 RBI and 14 stolen bases for Gwinnett. |

The Atlanta Braves took advantage of Daniel Murphy's error to score two runs in the ninth inning off Francisco Rodriguez and beat the New York Mets 6-5 on Wednesday night for their season-best sixth consecutive victory.
