(6/18/13) Astros manager Bo Porter said Tuesday reliever Edgar Gonzalez (shoulder) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Friday with the Gulf Coast League affiliate, according to the team's color analyst. Barring any setbacks, he will be moved to Double-A Corpus Christi for his second appearance.

(6/16/13) Astros manager Bo Porter said Sunday reliever Edgar Gonzalez (shoulder) continues to be monitored and is "coming along well," according to the Houston Chronicle. Gonzalez is 0-1 woth a 7.50 ERA in eight relief outings between Houston and Toronto this season.

(5/31/13) The Astros announced Friday that relief pitcher Edgar Gonzalez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.
Gonzalez has been battling shoulder soreness in recent days, pitching just once (on May 25) since May 18. He has posted a 7.50 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 18 innings this season. Reliever Josh Fields was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.

(5/30/13) Astros pitcher Edgar Gonzalez is working through shoulder soreness, MLB.com reports. Gonzalez, who has allowed 15 earned runs in 18 innings, last pitched May 25, surrendering four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings against the A's.
Gonzalez has pitched for the Astros and the Blue Jays this season.

(5/12/13) The Astros announced Sunday they signed reliever Edgar Gonzalez to a major-league contract. Gonzalez takes the roster spot of Philip Humber, who was designated for assignment.
Gonzalez was with Houston earlier this season before being designated for assignment in early April. He was picked up by the Blue Jays and made a few relief appearances before being taken off the 40-man roster last week. Gonzalez has a 7.88 ERA in three relief appearances this season.
