Preseason Outlook

Correia has become a steady starter on a cellar-dwelling club, which actually means he is a staff ace, just not in Fantasy. He is a nice sleeper to use in mixed leagues when the matchups are right, but there are at least 80 starting pitchers we would advise picking before him on Draft Day. A solid pitcher's park in San Diego will keep Correia's ERA and WHIP respectable, but you should not count on him being a consistent winner for your Fantasy team, especially coming off just one full season in a major league rotation. His third-year starting pitcher breakthrough was last year and he is more likely to regress to his career mean than improve this season. (Updated 1/12/10)
