| Chad Gaudin hit hard in no-decision |

(6/15/13) Giants pitcher Chad Gaudin took a step back as he was hit hard but did not factor in the decision Saturday afternoon against the Braves.
Gaudin allowed two home runs to B.J. Upton but left the game with the lead before closer Sergio Romo coughed up the lead in the ninth. He surrendered four runs on eight hits and one walk in five innings pitched in a 6-5 loss.
Gaudin has allowed eight runs combined over his last three starts (17 innings). He is scheduled to make his next start Thursday at home against the Marlins. It'll be his first start at AT&T Park. He has a 0.61 ERA in 11 appearances at home this season.

(6/9/13) Giants pitcher Chad Gaudin turned in his second straight quality start as he earned the win Sunday afternoon against the Diamondbacks. Gaudin (2-1) surrendered two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven in six innings of a 6-2 win.
The right-hander told reporters he felt sick during his start and even vomited twice. Manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that Gaudin will remain in the rotation. He has allowed four earned runs and struck out 12 over his last two starts (12 innings). He is scheduled to make his next start Saturday at Atlanta.

(6/2/13) The San Francisco Giants needed a solid start and got one Sunday from an unlikely source. Chad Gaudin provided six solid innings to in a 4-2 win at St. Louis.
He struck out five and walked none while allowing two runs on four hits. St. Louis third baseman David Freese hit a two-run home run in the fourth off Gaudin.
It was the Giants' first quality start on the road since Madison Bumgarner's start in Arizona April 30.
Manger Bruce Bochy said Gaudin would be on an 80-pitch count -- he pitched 79. His ERA dropped to 2.21 in the win.

(5/31/13) The Giants have officially listed pitcher Chad Gaudin as Sunday's starter against the Cardinals. Gaudin has not made a start since 2009 for the Yankees. He is 0-1 with a 2.05 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 18 appearances this season.

(5/30/13) The Giants have an open rotation spot for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, and manager Bruce Bochy appears to be leaning toward a bullpen start. Bochy told CSNBayArea.com Thursday he plans to use Chad Gaudin to start, despite Gaudin not having made a start at the major-league level since 2009.
Gaudin has gone at least two innings in 10 of his 18 appearances this season. He hrew 54 pitches in his most recent outing Tuesday.
